She did reveal who it was last year, and "You're So Vain" was about David Geffen. it was a dispute she was having with him having something to do with a song she wanted to perform or something else, and the result was about DG.

The best thing about a listening to a song about someone else is choosing who you'd personally want the lyrics to fit.

Bing: Surprising celebs who've inspired hit songs

By Daynah Burnett for MSN Entertainment

The stories behind many great songs are the stuff of legend. For example, it's widely speculated that Carly Simon 's 1972 hit "You're So Vain" was about notorious ladies' man Warren Beatty, though the songstress has never actually revealed the identity of the song's subject. But what about all those other famous songs with real-life celebrity inspirations? From Katy Perry to The Beatles to Taylor Swift, can you guess who your favorite artists are really singing about? Find out from our friends at Bing.
