| The 2008 Presidential Election Recast |
| The 2008 presidential election is less than a year away, but the
participants in the campaign are already impossible to avoid. Perhaps it would
be easier to understand this prolonged political season if it was condensed into
some form we're already familiar with, like a gripping, Oscar-worthy big-screen
Hollywood drama or, alternatively, a nutty TV laff-a-minute sitcom. Instead of
wading through the issues and thoroughly researching the candidates (because
honestly, what fun is that?), wouldn't it be easier to simply sit around and
watch something? Let's call the movie drama "A Season to Decide" and the
television sitcom "Those Wacky Candidates." We've done the casting, Hollywood.
