like "Psychiatric Explorations
of the Fetus with Needles", and Flaming Lips' concerts are more likely to
feature balloons than gunshots. So the Arcade Fire crew must have really gotten
under his skin. In March of 2009, Coyne complained to Rolling Stone that the
Canadian indie rockers "not only treated their crew like s***, they treated the
audience like s***. They treated everybody in their vicinity like s***." Arcade Fire front man Win Butler soon
responded that his band had only played with the Lips one time and that Coyne
had no basis to make such charges. While the feud has died down, we can fondly
hope for some dreamy, multi-dimensional, highly orchestrated tracks from both
groups dissing each other.
