If I remember correctly Madonna came at least 6 more older singer on your list 10101, subpilot I have met 77 year old man who rode his bicycle across the Rockies and the Alleghenies from LA to DC with quadruple bypass dying before that and revived to make that bicycle ride. 3500 miles. As far as Madonna up to now has sold 300 million in sales on one site was # 4 on the all time selling list 2 out of the 4 are dead and that leaves paul who was with the Beatles and both singularly Ringo and and Paul are nowhere in the sales range of Madonna. i used to DJ at bar and she was the most requested at her time, women like to dance and any man at that time that wanted to dance usual went with what the women listened to or sat in a chair.  Come one CCR, they were playing in the late 60's they are great grandpa's & Moody Blues Great Grandpa's, Sir Paul  early to mid 60's
