Silly love songs? Fine. Ridiculous love songs? Please.
It's not a modern thing: Love songs have often been innately stupid,
hyperbolic and over the top in all genres. Decades ... moreago Frank Sinatra and Tony
Bennett recorded "Fly Me to the Moon." Unless you're a retired Apollo astronaut,
that probably never happened.
Maybe that's as insane as it gets, but music from the classic-rock era
through today makes similarly absurd claims. You love someone? Fine. Don't
promise things you can't deliver, or disguise pure lust with love. Here are 20
songs that are either insane or insulting. You decide. Oh, and happy Valentine's
