Week 8 Reality Recap

Things have been quieter in the Rock Star mansion now that the eccentric and always entertaining Zayra is gone, an absence the Rockers are definitely feeling. Ryan spoke for everyone in saying, "Without Z in this house it kind of sucks. She's the one girl here who really brought life to the house."

And that life was probably one thing the Rockers needed after a tense session with the press. Knowing that Jason Newsted was observing their conduct, the Rockers tried to stay professional regarding their fellow housemates, Supernova and the competition. Most succeeded but Dilana stumbled. Dishing on everything from Toby and Magni's commitment to Ryan and Storm's opinions of Supernova's song, she did not hold back. She even said she didn't think Patrice should be there.

It got worse. During a session with Star 98.7, whose reporter was hard-hitting enough for Magni to exclaim, "You're mean!" Dilana ripped into Lukas for getting on her nerves. When this was relayed back to Lukas, he wasn't pleased ("she should mind her own business"). The final straw came when the reporter told Lukas he was being a d**!: "I was seconds away from getting up and saying 'go f**k yourself'" he said.

Song selection created more drama. With original songs up for grabs, the competition heated up. Storm got downright physical about it: "I'll fight anyone. I'll put on gloves and fight...we'll go in the yard and box." Magni, however, appealed to reason by urging for Patrice to get one chance since she frequently landed in the bottom three. In the end, Patrice and Ryan got their tunes.

And then Dilana got naked. To win "Every Breath You Take," by The Police, Toby dared Dilana to strip nude and run around the pool. But practicing her falsetto proved difficult. Did she make the right choice?

Rehearsal brought more challenges. Magni was ill, a tough predicament vocally because, as House Band leader Paul Mirkovich claimed, "your body is your instrument." Meanwhile, Ryan was very particular about how his song should sound. Though he liked Ryan's original, Paul stated that Ryan had "a strong tendency to micromanage the band." Ryan defended his pickiness by stating: "I need this to be amazing...because this is my rock and roll self."

Will it be enough?
