Week 6 Reality Recap
With surprise exits, close calls, and dramatic transformations, predicting
Supernova's future lead singer is, at this point, anyone's guess.
At the mansion, the ten remaining Rockers were feeling the heat. After Dana's
farewell, Patrice discussed the shock of landing in the bottom three and the
Rockers heralded Ryan for his stirring encore. And then... food fight.
But it wasn't all fun and games. Gilby pulled up on his hog and thrilled the
Rockers by presenting each with their own Gibson guitar. But, back to
business--the song clinic project. Each Rocker would write lyrics and melody to
the newest Supernova track. Tougher still--in one day.
The challenge proved easy for Lukas. He loved the tune: "It made me feel like
getting into a beat-up fast car and pump it to ten" and in no time, he had his
song.
The other Rockers felt quick inspiration as well. Dilana, happy with her
song, nevertheless felt pressure to be "amazingly good" and Storm found the
track "dirty and strutty," so she got "physical with it" and sought motivation
by running.
On the flip side, Ryan struggled. Unaccustomed to writing so quickly, he
stayed up until the wee hours crafting what Supernova would hear.
Would they like it?
The next day, Supernova was ready for the Rockers' compositions. Ryan was up
first. Luckily his work paid off and Supernova appreciated his take. The other
Rockers were a mixed bag. Storm was, as Gilby said, "melodic," but Jill,
according to Tommy, "oversang." Dilana also lost a few points with lyrics that
Jason thought were "cornball." But Lukas? Tommy said he "killed it."
Magni was finally able to see his wife and baby ("the best thing to happen in
five weeks") as they arrived at the mansion for a happy reunion. With such
positive energy around, the Rockers had few problems choosing the next day's
songs. Dilana was shocked that no one opted for "Won't Get Fooled Again" with Gilby on guitar. "What idiots!"
said a stunned Dilana. But ever the helpful Rocker, she urged Lukas to pick "Creep," believing it would open up his voice. As he
practiced alone that night, it appeared Dilana was right. Sensitively singing
the closing line "I don't belong here," he sounded soulful and seductive all at
once.
Though contrary to the lyrics, Lukas, like all the Rockers most certainly
"belong[s] here."
