Week 2 Reality Recap

Elimination? Not a fun word. The rivalries heated up after Matt's departure, leaving the Rockers stressed, but more focused. Phil put it in a nutshell: "The first elimination show has humbled everybody; we were all hot stuff in our hometowns but when you come here... [with] all this talent, you're not so hot anymore."

Back at the mansion, the Rockers toasted "brother" Matt. Magni expressed sorrow over his roommate and friend leaving ("that sucked"), Chris conveyed confidence that he can now show the world who he really is and Dilana experienced the pressure of being on top. But the pressure was getting to all of the Rockers, and at dinner, they earnestly discussed the stakes of song selection.

And the stakes were certainly high, something Lukas takes seriously. He's here to win: "If you wanna roll with the big dogs, you gotta have a pretty mean bite." But Lukas' cutthroat attitude wasn't winning points with Jenny. She found him an untrustworthy competitor. Tensions were relieved (briefly) when Storm discovered a room full of Gibson guitars - gifts for the Rockers. They were elated. "It's @#!ing Christmas!," shouted Storm.

The next day brought the song selection and this time, no one was messing around. "The vibe was, you touch my song, I kill you," claimed Ryan. Lukas wanted to show a softer side with Coldplay's "Don't Panic," Dilana took a chance she might regret with Johnny Cash's country classic "Ring of Fire" and Zayra and Jill battled over Hole's "Violet." Zayra nabbed the song but listening to Jill's rendition, she admitted it better suited Jill. Switching tunes, Zayra ended up with The Kinks', "You Really got Me."

But was that such a good idea? During Zayra's rehearsal with the houseband, the answer appeared to be no. Bandleader Paul Mirkovich confessed: "She's totally out of her range. I can't help but think that Supernova's gonna crucify her for it." Ouch. Rehearsal illustrated even more challenges as Chris seemed overconfident and a nervous Dilana was torn over her somber, soulful take on Johnny Cash. And so is the band. Nate declared, "She's either gonna get no votes. Or every single vote."

We can only wait and see.
