Rostam Batmanglij

As the co-songwriter in Vampire Weekend, keyboardist Rostam Batmanglij has had a major hand in the shaping of indie rock of the last five years. The band's two albums, their 2008 self-titled debut and "Contra" (2010), fashion a novel combination of afro-beat ... moreand arch lyrics, reminiscent of "Graceland"-era Paul Simon while providing a subtle tonal angularity. With Wes Miles of Ra Ra Riot, Batmanglij is also a part of the dance band Discovery.
