British soul singer Dusty Springfield will forever have a place in the pop music pantheon for her 1969 LP, "Dusty in Memphis," which sported the hit single and radio standard-bearer "Son of a Preacher Man." That said, her career is full of fine singles that ... moreshow off her smoky, slow-burn voice, especially twin 1964 hits penned by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, "Wishin' and Hopin'" and "I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself." In 1987, her career was revived when she duetted with the Pet Shop Boys on the hit single "What Have I Done to Deserve This?"
