Exes Fly to Bedsides of Travis Barker and DJ AM

They may no longer be married, but Shanna Moakler and Travis Barker are still close. So close, reports People, that she has promised to stick by the drummer as he recovers at an Augusta, Ga., hospital from the serious burns he suffered in a Sept. 20 plane crash with DJ AM.

"She's been at his bedside ever since she got there," an insider tells the magazine. "She loves him and she's not going to leave him."

Shanna and Travis hit a promotional event in Los Angeles last year.

Moakler, who was photographed in tears at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center on Monday (we'll spare you the guilt you'd inevitably feel from intruding on her distress by not publishing the picture), rushed to Barker's side after the accident, which killed four people, including his assistant and bodyguard.

"It has all been very intense," continues the confidant. "[Shanna] is very emotional but also very strong."

Adds another source, "She's there trying to lift his spirits. She's there for him and will be there for him as long as it takes. She loves him."

The couple, whose divorce was finalized earlier this year, has two children, son Landon, 4, and daughter Alabama, 2, who remain in California in the care of their grandparents.

"There's still love between them," Shanna's mother tells People of the pair's post-split relationship. "They may be divorced, but they're still very close. She spends a lot of time with him. Their priorities are their kids."

Mandy and DJ AM are spotted in Los Angeles last year.

Meanwhile, DJ AM (aka Adam Goldstein) has also received support from a former flame as he recovers from his injuries at the hospital.

Mandy Moore, whom he has remained friends with after they dated for a couple of months early last year, quickly jetted to Georgia to visit him. Paparazzi snapped the starlet exiting the burn center on Monday.

Both Barker and DJ AM are eventually expected to make a full recovery from their second- and third-degree burns.

As for how they were able to survive the crash, a police officer informs People that the duo told him they slid down the plane's right-side wing.

"They said they were on fire and that they tackled each other and put each other out," explains Lt. Josh Shumpert, who arrived on the scene not long after the accident. "When I got there they were on the side of the road. They were pacing and in shock."

The cop then unnecessarily adds, "Travis was very shaken up."
