From our "we'll believe it when we hear it" file comes another round of
rumors touting a planned duet between Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. The New York Post believes the long-ago
exes will record a song for her forthcoming album, which she recently told OK! is her "best work ever." This time last year,
the paper reported that a mid-meltdown Brit torpedoed the duet by blowing off a
recording session at producer Timbaland's Virginia Beach studio. Meanwhile, when not trying
to get her career back on track, Spears is apparently arranging celebrity
playdates for sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, who turn three and two,
respectively, next month. Paparazzi snapped the tykes playing with Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale's son Kingston outside the shaped-up, sugar-ditching popster's Beverly Hills house on
Wednesday (seems they're neighbors). There were plenty of eyes watching over
Brit and the boys, including her mom, Lynne, and assorted nannies and minders,
all of whom followed closely as Kingston and Sean took turns cruising in a
kiddie-sized toy Escalade. If we didn't know any better, we'd think the folks living near the French chateau where Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been holed up with their brood since May have come up with a novel way to hobnob with the famous family. Britain's Daily Express says the A-list diaper-changers, who have kept a low profile since debuting twins Knox and Vivienne in the pages of People, plan to invite their neighbors to a bash at their rented estate, an event they've been told is a local custom. "They have met town officials who have said it is a tradition for newcomers to host an early-evening drinks reception for everyone who lives in the village," a mole tells the paper. "They want to get stuck into village life and become real locals. Brad said they want to be like Johnny [Depp] and Vanessa [Paradis], who live a quiet life in nearby Plan de la Tour."
Turns out Blake Lively had no idea she was on the receiving end of an exasperated eye roll from America Ferrera as they talked up "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2" during a recent TV interview. But she insists her co-star's stink eye wasn't personal. "I haven't even heard about it. I don't ever pay attention to that stuff," the "Gossip Girl" starlet tells Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello of the kerfuffle over her "Ugly Betty" peer's withering glance. "She's one of my best friends in the whole wide world and honestly, when you're sitting in a room for three hours doing satellite interviews -- we were staring at a Post-It with a smiley face -- so I think I probably rolled my eyes a hundred times." Ben Affleck will be showing off his card-playing and sandwich-making skills when he hits the Democratic National Convention in Denver next week. "He won't be delivering speeches," an insider tells the New York Daily News. "Instead, he'll be anteing up for a disabled veterans' poker tournament, as well as participating in America's Second Harvest events -- packing lunches for local food banks. And he'll be sitting in on a panel discussion on combating global poverty." One of Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell's incubating twin girls is gonna have some really big cups to fill. The "Ugly Betty" actress, who is about five months along, tells In Touch she plans to name one of the tots after her larger-than-life idol, Dolly Parton. "I have been a Dolly fan all of my life. She's a wonderful woman," she enthuses to the mag. "I really connect with her music. I can't think of a better role model for my children!" And even though Dolly O'Connell doesn't exactly trip off the tongue, it's better than the naming direction her husband wanted to go. "We were joking about calling them Mary-Kate and Ashley," Jerry tells "Entertainment Tonight." "I'm not kidding. I really thought about that." Anyhoo, Romijn says she's already received the nod from the cartoonishly pneumatic country legend over the planned moniker tribute. "She was honored," notes Rebecca, who jetted from New York to Dollywood last weekend to catch Parton perform a benefit show. Dolly even gave her fellow blonde a shout-out during the concert, dedicating the song "Little Sparrow" to her. Next: Romance Report: Jessica Calls Out Carrie, Phillippe Shacks Up |
