| Simpson and Romo laugh at Underwood; plus, did John send Jen
a text-message kiss-off? Are McGosling back on? And will Britney and Justin
warble together?
Despite her many years in the public eye, Jessica Simpson hasn't yet learned the value of offering a simple "no comment" when it comes to her love life. In an interview this week with Nashville radio station 107.5 FM, the country music-making, vitamin beer-shilling starlet was quick to deny that her Dallas Cowboys squeeze Tony Romo is still calling his ex, Carrie Underwood. "Tony and I both laughed at that," said Simpson of the chart-topping blonde's recent claim that the quarterback was reaching out and touching her. "We got a chuckle out of it." When asked to confirm that the story isn't true, Jess happily obliged, declaring, "No, I know it's not. Definitely." And how can she be so sure? "I looked at his call log," she blurted out before bursting into a laugh and insisting, "I'm kidding!" Simpson then reassured listeners that she's no snoop with serious trust issues, explaining, "No, I'm not that girl. I just think that if Tony wanted to call her or be with her, he would." Underwood, you'll recall, tattled in the September issue of Allure that she has a tendency to send Romo to voice mail, revealing, "The phone will ring and it'll be him, and I'll maybe not answer." Simpson, on the other hand, apparently wants to think of her beau every time she gets a call. OK! reports she's changed her ringtone to the Dallas Cowboys theme song. And Romo has certainly been on her mind a lot lately, especially when she's talking with the press. "I love every quality that Tony has," Simpson recently effused to People, adding, "I don't think that I would be in a relationship this long if I didn't hope for happily ever after." She was equally rhapsodic in September's Elle, when she gushed that Romo, whom she began dating late last year, is "the first person I've spiritually connected with." (They reportedly pray aloud before meals and at bedtime.) "Most of the guys I dated were captivated by my heart but they had different ways of trying to get to me," she sighed. "Tony understands me."
Ryan Phillippe has apparently hit a relationship milestone thanks to his newly purchased 5-bedroom, 7-bath Hollywood Hills estate. People reports the ab-tastic actor, 33, is sharing his expansive, $7.1 million pad with girlfriend Abbie Cornish, 26. "They're at that point," an insider tells the mag. "He cares a lot about her." The couple, who met on the set of "Stop-Loss" but have denied they were involved when Ryan's marriage to Reese Witherspoon crashed and burned, just spent a PDA-crammed weekend in Las Vegas to celebrate Cornish's birthday. The mag says in between all the kissing and cuddling, the Australian actress "unbuttoned Phillippe's shirt and started pouring ice down his chest." Is Sharon Stone romancing the baby-faced mystery man she was photographed cozying up to at a Los Angeles fashion fete earlier this month? In Touch says the karma-baiting actress is seeing a 24-year-old named Chase Dreyfous, who may be too young to know how to keep his fried bologna hole closed about his purported conquests. "I've started dating Sharon Stone, and she's pretty good for 50," the mag quotes him as caddishly telling his buddies at a Los Angeles hot spot on Aug. 8, with an insider piping in, "Sharon called him and he showed the caller ID to everyone." The two are said to have met more than a month ago through Stone's Planet Hope charity. "They connect very well," a source adds to Us Weekly. "Sharon has always liked her men young and hot." In other head-scratching hookup news, Winona Ryder has supposedly been spied spending time with one of Drew Barrymore's more elusively appealing exes. The National Enquirer claims the actress, who recently called it quits with Rilo Kiley front man Blake Sennett and has been romanced by the likes of Sexiest Men Alive Johnny Depp and Matt Damon, was seen yukking it up with former professional prankster Tom Green last week at a Los Angeles bar. "She and Tom were all over each other," alleges a snitch, "laughing and carrying on." Orlando Bloom has been making the most of his recent time off by staying close to his Victoria's Secret model squeeze Miranda Kerr. The New York Post says the oh-so-pretty pair weren't shy about showing their affection as they hit a Manhattan sushi joint on Monday night. "They were pretty hot and heavy and they were sitting right in the middle of the room," relays a spy. "They were definitely into each other." The next day, Bloom played the doting boyfriend by chauffeuring a grocery-toting Kerr around on his motorcycle. |
