The breakup of Kate Moss and Pete Doherty is turning out to be just as
breathtakingly screwed up as their relationship. Frustrated by his inability to
get hold of his supermodel ex-squeeze, the drug-devoted and lately bleach blond
rocker has decided to reach out to her through that most romantic of mediums --
the tabloids.
In an interview with the London Daily Mirror that puts the "rat" in erratic,
Doherty, 28, kvetches that Moss, 33, is a "nasty old rag" with "insane jealousy"
issues and an "awful temper" who kicked him to the curb after accusing him of
"[bleeping] the girl who lives around the corner."
But just because she's a "nasty old rag" doesn't mean he's not still head
over heels.
"I love her with all my heart," he conflictingly moons. "I like the way she
walks and talks. I love her bones. I love her brain."
Not content with merely one deeply dysfunctional and contradictory
declaration of devotion, Doherty whines to the London Sun that his two-year
romance with Moss "became like the Vietnam War," an odd reference point for
someone born four years after the conflict ended.
"I was always dodging bullets," he says. "The last six weeks of our
relationship were bad. We had one massive bust-up and it carried on from there."
And contrary to reports Kate cut him loose because he strayed, the
oft-perforated Pete claims he was the one who did the dumping: "I left
her."
As for Moss, she's said to be fuming over Pete's unplugged piehole, with a
mole telling the London Daily Mail that she "lost all control" and "flew into a
rage" when she learned of his oversharing.
"Pete had given Kate lyrics for a song written in blood when they were
together. She had it framed," recounts the source. "Yesterday she smashed the
picture, ripped the lyrics up and threw them in the bin."
Moss, who also reportedly burned Doherty's love letters and other mementos
(with and without bloodstains) after their split, "is furious that it all makes
her look so pathetic when she is the one that has cleaned herself up and dumped
him," adds the insider. "Kate's rage has now subsided into tears and she is
slightly panicking that he is going to do something more aggressive in his
pathetic attempt to get her back."
According to the Sun, Moss has jetted off to Spain to decompress from the
Doherty debacle.
Says an insider, "She's going with one intention -- to have a wild, messy
party and forget about Pete."
