Quickies: Justin Crows, K-Fed Lies Low & Madonna Glows

Justin Timberlake proves that no matter how rich or successful one might become, the need for Stuart Smalley-style self-affirmation can remain -- and manifest in the oddest ways. The singer is inexplicably tooting his own horn over the fact that he -- and not Ashton Kutcher -- is responsible for one of the worst fashion fads in recent years. "It's funny," Timberlake muses in Fashion Rocks magazine. "I keep hearing Ashton Kutcher say how he was responsible for trucker caps. I've heard him make that statement before." But it's just not true, says Justin, who insists that he and his pal-turned-business partner Trace Ayala brought the trashy chapeaus to the masses. "Trace and I were wearing them when we were 17," he boasts. That said, "I don't walk out of my house thinking, 'Man, I hope somebody thinks this looks cool!'" he elaborates. "There's some stuff I wear that people think is not cool." Like trucker hats, for instance.

In other news from guys Britney Spears once thought were the bee's knees, Kevin Federline wants the world to know he's doing just ducky. "Been having a good summer," he tells People. "I can't complain." No, he really can't, especially now that he's gained sole custody of sons Sean Preston and Jayden James from his conservator-controlled ex, who is reportedly forking over $20,000 a month in child support. As for what he's been up to now that his rap and acting careers have petered out, the image-overhauled K-Fed, 30, says he's keeping busy. "I've worked here and there a little bit," he shares. "Definitely staying at home with the family."

Madonna with daughter Lourdes in New York on July 25

The collective "eek!" that was emitted over photos showing Madonna exiting the Kabbalah Centre in New York last week without makeup or body fat has prompted her rep to take action. "I just think the photographer got a bad shot of her or it was touched up to make her look bad," her flack posits to People (keep in mind more than one shutterbug caught her looking hollow-cheeked and rickety). "I saw Madonna two days before at her rehearsal and she looked amazing -- glowing skin and working really hard on her show." While the mouthpiece concedes that the Big M "may look a little thinner than usual," she says she's "dancing and singing better than ever and ate a nice healthy meal."

Probably not part of Madonna's "nice healthy meal" was anything too sweet. "Sugar kills," her husband, Guy Ritchie, is quoted as declaring to the London Daily Mirror. "Think of the calories in sugar. Fat kills more people than anything else. Sugar is responsible for a lot of deaths, arguably more than crack cocaine."
