Quickies: Miley Dreams of a G-Rated 'Sex and the City'

"I like to think of myself as the girl that no one can get, that no one can keep in their hand." That unfortunate turn-of-phrase comes courtesy of Miley Cyrus, 15, as she discusses her abstinence pledge in the current issue of TV Guide. Like the tight-pantsed Jonas Brothers and fellow Disney moppet Selena Gomez, the toothy starlet sports a purity ring, explaining, "Even at my age, a lot of girls are starting to fall. And I think if [staying a virgin] is a commitment girls make, that's great." But proving once again that she's a wholesome riddle wrapped in a coquettish enigma, Miley reveals her dream of stepping into the Jimmy Choos of Carrie Bradshaw. "I'd love to do a younger, cleaner version of 'Sex and the City,'" she bubbles (possible title: "Absolutely No Sex and the City"). Cyrus also adeptly sidesteps questions about her controversial bare-shouldered pose in Vanity Fair ("I don't dwell on the negativity. I want to be a positive role model, so we just try to keep [that stuff] as much not talked about as possible") and fesses up to feeling "empowered" when she sees a girl wearing a "Hannah Montana" tee ("A girl wouldn't be wearing a shirt with me on it just because she liked my show. She must look up to me"). She also works in a plug for her new ditty "7 Things" by detailing the seven things she can't live without: 1) "The Bible. It's my 'how-to' guide for life" 2) "My mommy!" 3) "My Yorkie Roadie and my lovebird Zazu" 4) "Grilled cheese. Mmm ..." 5) "Music and my beautiful Gibson guitar" 6) "My black Chuck Taylor Converse sneakers" 7) "My Sidekick." As for those supposedly phone-hacked candid photos that surfaced last weekend showing what appeared to be a moist T-shirted Miley posing in the shower and another of her coyly baring her belly, her rep downplays to FoxNews.com, "Old photos, old news."

Beneath those behemoth sunglasses, Posh is smiling with her eyes.

She may have a pair of candlepin bowling balls strapped to her chest and an expression that hovers somewhere between sultry and sitting-on-a-knife, but Victoria Beckham insists she's nothing special. "I'm a normal-looking girl, and I just make the best of what I have," the erstwhile Posh insists to the August issue of Allure. "I'm not out-of-the-ordinary looking at all -- I'm incredibly ordinary." And she says that, contrary to public perception, she frequently turns her frown upside down. "Of course I smile," scoffs Vicky, who kept her teeth hidden as she worked the red carpet at Wednesday's ESPY Awards on the arm of hubby David Beckham. "It's just that they don't use those pictures. It's a better story to say that I'm a miserable cow. I get it." The mom of three boys also admits she's still pining for a little pink in the house. "At the moment, we're fine, the five of us," she explains. "At some point, I'd love to have a girl, you know -- just for all the clothes I've got to hand down. It would be tremendous fun. I've got great girlie advice that I can share."

"I try not to go on the Internet and read about myself. It's a guaranteed way to get angry for no reason." That's Penélope Cruz, explaining to W why she avoids Googling herself. "You start looking at yourself from the outside, from the wrong place. And everything is out of proportion. The good things, the bad things -- everything," she continues. "I think it's disgusting. It's dangerous and nasty, and bad for our society in so many ways. And it's getting worse every day." Rants the actress, "It affects me directly, but I really believe that this culture of gossip affects our society on a much deeper level, on an ethical level. It's what kids see and hear every day, and it will affect future generations in ways that we cannot even imagine." To that end, she refuses to comment on her relationship with Javier Bardem, her co-star in Woody Allen's upcoming "Vicky Cristina Barcelona," although she does allow, "I think he's the best actor alive. I think he has an amazing talent."
