Quickies: Brit's Good Mood, Naomi's Bad Rep

A stage mother's work is never done. As Jamie Lynn Spears snuggled baby Maddie on the cover of the latest issue of OK!, mom Lynne Spears headed from Louisiana to Los Angeles last week to spend some time with Britney. People reports their refreshingly routine "mother-daughter bonding" on Friday included a stop at Pottery Barn, jeans shopping at the True Religion warehouse and dinner at a sushi joint, where they were joined by a pair of the still carefully supervised starlet's pals. "Britney walked in with a big smile and introduced her mom to the staff," an eatery eyewitness tells the mag. "She looked gorgeous, and I have never seen her in a better mood. She was laughing the whole time she was here. Britney seemed to have the best time hanging out with her mom and friends." The following day, Lynne was on hand for Brit's overnight visit with sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, who turn 3 and 2, respectively, in September. With the toddlers away, Kevin Federline apparently decided to play. Paparazzi snapped him out Saturday night at Eva Longoria's L.A. restaurant Beso, followed by a visit to hot spot The Kress.

With another potential photo kerfuffle brewing, Miley Cyrus, 15, took her mind off things with some retail therapy with a girlfriend. Granted, the pal in question was fellow Disney asset Ashley Tisdale, 23, and their Beverly Hills shopping trip on Sunday was diligently documented by the paparazzi, but at least the photo op distracted from the ostensibly candid shots that began making the rounds over the weekend. The personal but still G-rated pics, which were supposedly hacked from the "Hannah Montana" powerhouse's phone, appear to show her in a moist T-shirt and posing with a bit of bare belly while blowing a kiss. Miley's rep played down the images to FoxNews.com, saying, "Old photos, old news."

Naomi's inner rage subsides as she gently rocks a random baby in Nigeria.

"I'm not a bad person. When people say all these negative things about me, I ignore them." That's Naomi Campbell, accentuating the positive in a chat with the London Daily Mirror. "Let them be negative -- but do that away from me. It hurts but I know there is much more good in the world," sniffles the anger-mismanaging, community-servicing supermodel, 38. "I'm blessed to be able to do charitable work and good things but no one focuses on that because I don't throw it in people's faces." That may be because she's too busy throwing other things in people's faces, like cell phones and attitude. Anyhoo, Campbell made her comments while on a good-will trip to Nigeria, where she posed with a baby at a children's hospital and planted a tree as part of an eco-friendly initiative.

Nothing boosts one's credibility in a paternity case like emoting to an entertainment news show. In a sit-down with "The Insider," a 13-year-old who may or may not be the half-sister of Lindsay Lohan says she's -- shocker -- hoping for a face-to-face with the starlet, but not if potential daddy Michael is present. "I would love to meet my siblings. I'd love that, but not with him there. Not now," admits Ashley Kaufmann. "It's just weird knowing that I have brothers and sisters who don't even know that I exist." The teen's mother, Kristi, who says she had a liaison with Papa Lohan in 1995, adds that she didn't want to go public with the paternity claims. "I'm incredibly sorry for this coming out the way it did, because I know it has hurt [Lindsay's mom] Dina and her family," she acknowledged while turning on the waterworks. "I didn't want this. Michael gave me no choice. He really didn't."

Will Katherine Heigl, who recently withdrew her name from Emmy consideration for "Grey's Anatomy" because she felt she "wasn't given the material" to warrant a nomination, soon be handed a scenery-chomping death scene? E!'s Marc Malkin says there are whispers that the actress's character, Dr. Izzie Stevens, could be facing her final curtain, courtesy of creator Shonda Rhimes. "It's not good there," tattles an on-set "Grey's" source. "Shonda is pissed. They're thinking of killing her off. They want Izzie dead." It's been rumored for months that Heigl wants out of the ABC series to pursue her big-screen career, which has taken off with "Knocked Up" and "27 Dresses," but an ABC insider insists to the Los Angeles Times that the death knell nattering is untrue. That means Izzie will be around next season to hook up with co-workers (but please, no more George) and patients alike.
