Cameron Diaz apparently wasn't kidding when she
recently told W how she planned to spend some time "just living life and having
fun." The oats-sowing actress reportedly cozied up to Diddy as they partied at Prince's Los Angeles estate on Friday night.
People reports the pair, who have been spotted together several times in
recent months, were "wrapped around one another" as they grooved to the
purple-loving rock icon, who gave an exclusive, two-hour-plus performance in his
backyard.
They also engaged in some hand-holding and laughing, according to the New
York Daily News, which says Diaz spoon-fed Diddy a bite of her bread pudding
before they slipped away to a quiet spot in the recesses of Prince's mansion.
The paper intrepidly followed, and claims it "came upon the entranced
twosome" as "Diddy was bringing his lips toward hers." When they realized they
had company, the leggy A-lister and the meticulously groomed mogul supposedly
smiled, closed and locked the door and started "giggling."
But Diddy, who has lately been seen in the company of dewy singer Cassie,
insists his chumminess with Diaz remains strictly in the pal zone.
"It is ridiculous that two celebrities of the opposite sex can't just hang
out with a group of friends without it being reported as more than that," he
huffs to the Daily News. "We are just friends."

Last month, Diddy and Diaz were seen socializing at a New York hot spot, a
sighting that followed a handful of similar get-togethers in Los Angeles,
including an April 5 tête-à-tête at the Beverly Hills Hotel during which they reportedly "snuggled, sipped martinis, laughed and
talked non-stop."
But Cameron's dance card appears to be jam-packed. On Sunday night, she hit
an Italian restaurant with strapping British model Paul Sculfor, who last year
enjoyed a brief but headline-making liaison with Jennifer Aniston.
"They looked really flirty," an eyewitness tells People. "She was laughing
really loud at all of his jokes. It looked like a date."
(If so, it once again proves the shallowness of the Hollywood dating pool:
Aniston is currently hot and heavy with Cam's onetime dirty-dancing partner, John Mayer.)
In related news, Diaz's ex, Justin Timberlake, can't seem to escape engagement whispers.
Two weeks after the London Sun predicted that the chart-topper would soon slip a diamond ring on Jessica Biel's finger, the Chicago Sun-Times is
hearing similar sparkler speculation.
A spy who is supposedly "super-close" to the hard-bodied starlet's management
team claims Justin soon plans to start shopping for rocks and is soliciting
bauble opinions from his squeeze's "closest pals and associates."
"The only comment I ever heard [Jessica] make was when she complimented a
mutual friend's square-cut emerald ring -- when that girlfriend of ours got
engaged," the mole very specifically details to the paper. "Of course, who
wouldn't have admired it? It was huge!"
Either way, Timberlake and Biel appear to be going strong after a year and a
half of under-the-radar courting, at least if their recent saliva-soaked groping session at a Miami club is any
indication.
And finally, anyone who doubts Ben Affleck's intellect needs only
listen to his shrewd response to the question, "Describe your perfect woman."
"That's easy, I married her," he declares to the London Mirror of Jennifer Garner, his wife of three years and doting
mom to daughter Violet. "[She's] so up there, you keep thinking there has to be
a dark side. She's incredibly patient and an amazing mother."
The lantern-jawed Oscar winner then earns extra hubby points by adding, "One
of the great things about Jennifer is she has no idea how beautiful she is.
There are a lot of women, particularly in this business, who use their physical
attributes and sexuality to get them somewhere. That isn't her style at all. But
she's drop-dead gorgeous. She's more than the girl next door, because she's
va-va voom, but in the same vein she's not threatening."
When asked about his fizzled engagement to Jennifer Lopez, who also dated the aforementioned
Diddy, he says it's easy to block out the blinking warning signs in a romance.
"I really think you know ahead of time when you make mistakes in
relationships, but you tell yourself, 'No, I'll be OK.' It's because you don't
want to face it," posits Affleck. "You're only ready to admit it when the
relationship becomes untenable and you have to get out of it. Those reasons you
say at the end, you knew them at the beginning, but you just didn't admit them
to yourself. Well, at least in my experiences. With Jen, I just knew.
