Is it time to steel ourselves for an onslaught of football clichés of the
"game over/time out" variety when it comes to Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo? The rumor mill is
churning with talk the Texas twosome has hit the skids after six months of
togetherness -- chatter the bubbly blonde is trying to quell.
"Extra," which ran an interview with Simpson on Tuesday, denies she's parted
ways with the Dallas Cowboys quarterback, while her rep succinctly informs
"Access Hollywood" there's "no truth" to the reports.
Jessica is "very happy with Tony," the mouthpiece adds to Us Weekly.
"They are both happy together."

TMZ.com, however, begs to differ, declaring them kaput, "at least for now."
Also on board the breakup train is the Dallas Morning News, which says it's
confirmed the split with "two people close to" the couple.
Meanwhile, Us piles it on by claiming Simpson got good and pie-eyed with BFF
CaCee Cobb last Saturday at a Mexican eatery in Los Angeles, ostensibly because
she's down in the dumps over ex-boyfriend John Mayer's tabloid-bait romance with Jennifer Aniston (it's "killing her," blares the
mag's cover, which is subtly titled, "Jessica's Agony: Stabbed in the Heart.").
While the starlet was supposedly calling her mom for a ride home from the
restaurant, Romo was whooping it up in Chicago, where Us says he was telling
pals, "We are broken up." (Also raising eyebrows: Perez Hilton purports he was close-talking with a
dewy blonde at a local club.)
Still, Jessica appeared anything but heartbroken during her chat with "Extra"
as she revealed her hopes for a wedding and the pitter-patter of little feet.
"I want to be married and have kids," she said. "I have a future ahead."
But she stopped short of naming Romo as her groom, sidestepping, "I don't
know about that yet -- I've been down that aisle."
She wasn't quite as cautious during a sit-down with the June issue of
Glamour, when she fate-temptingly gushed, "I'm in love, yeah. Big time. It's only four months. I
can't believe it. It feels like forever. I love this guy. Can you feel it?"
But the former Mrs. Nick Lachey, perhaps remembering all those schmoopy
proclamations that bit her on the butt from her "Newlyweds" days, added for good
measure, "This article could come out and Tony and I could be broken up, but he
still deserves all the accolades for bringing me back to who I am."
The pair, whose romance began as an e-mail and phone flirtation before
blossoming into a Joe Simpson-approved relationship over Thanksgiving, looked
very much in sync last month when they were snapped messily sharing cake -- with
their tongues -- during Tony's birthday celebration in Dallas.
Days later, they were alternately hit with wedding and breakup whispers.
Simpson was reportedly seen sporting a suspicious sparkler during a Las Vegas
getaway with Romo that took place soon after he was spotted (per Us) shopping
for rings.
But Robin Leach's Luxe Life alleged their Sin City
weekend experienced a hiccup after a heated exchange over Romo's apparent bad
luck at the tables.
They were also hit with rift rumors in January, when OK! reported the NFL-er
had drop-kicked the starlet, a claim the duo's continued coziness dispelled.
Whatever the state of their relationship, Jessica will apparently always be
indebted to Romo for giving her a much-needed boost.
"What he's done for me is irreplaceable," she declared to Glamour. "He
reintroduced me to myself. I thought that I had to be deeper, more profound and
more artsy. You change with the guys you date. [I thought] I had to be more
intellectual. Come on -- just be yourself! Tony taught me that because he loves
me [as me]. He made me feel comfortable [being myself] again."
