To avoid serious corneal damage, do not stare directly at Beyoncé's new ring, which she's likely struggling to haul
around without the aid of a wheelbarrow. "Entertainment Tonight" says the
still-unconfirmed Mrs. Jay-Z is now flashing a "flawless" 16-carat diamond ring.
(Yes, you read that right -- 16 carats.)
People spotted the sparkler on the chanteuse's digit as she cheered on her
ostensible hubby's performance Tuesday night in Atlanta (his finger remains
bare).
The privacy-craving couple has so far remained silent on their vow-swap,
which reportedly took place April 4 at the music mogul's palatial New York
penthouse, although some chatty insiders are painting a picture for the press.
"It was a very emotional wedding -- lots of crying -- and really very
spiritual," an eyewitness tells People, with another spy raving, "It was just
beautiful. Gorgeous. Opulent."
Only about 40 friends and family were invited to the surreptitious nuptials,
which are said to have taken place under a white tent in the
"basketball-court-size" living room of Jay-Z's recently remodeled
13,500-square-foot penthouse.
"It looked like a palace," florist Amy Vongpitaka enthuses of the setting,
which she helped decorate with 70,000 white dendrobium orchids flown in from
Thailand. "It was a really pure, white wedding."
The rarefied blossoms, which Us estimates set the newlyweds back about
$400,000, covered every surface.
"You couldn't see the walls because strings of flowers were on them," marvels
a snitch to the mag. "They covered the chandeliers, the curtains and the floor."
Guests were asked to stick with the pristine color scheme, with Gwyneth Paltrow and Beyonce's sister, Solange,
snapped sporting usually verboten white dresses to the wedding.
The bride, 26, chose a "poufy, traditional" white gown designed by her
frou-frou-loving mom, Tina Knowles, according to Us, while the groom, 38, opted
for a black Tom Ford tux.
"Beyoncé looked beautiful," an insider gushes to People.
For the first dance, the couple reportedly grooved to the sounds of Earth,
Wind & Fire's "September," with a snitch sighing to People, "It was
extremely emotional and beautifully orchestrated."
The swanky soiree also included a cake taller than the bride (more than five
feet of sugary goodness, says Us), along with plenty of high-end cigars.
Meanwhile, bun-in-the-oven speculation has already begun in earnest, helped
along by the bride's impatient mom, who overshared with the magazine, "Hopefully
Beyoncé will be starting a family soon."
Just don't expect them to comment on it.
When well-wishers offered Jay-Z congratulations on the union earlier this
week, he shot back with a smile (via People), "I don't know what you're talking
about!"
