Jessica and Tony Romo at LAX on March
2 |
Jessica Simpson can't quite seem to grasp the concept of
keeping her private life private. Us reports the starlet wasn't shy about
straddling beau Tony Romo at Los Angeles hot spot Villa Saturday night in front
of a crowd that included her ex-assistant, CaCee Cobb, and Cobb's main squeeze,
"Scrubs"
actor Donald Faison. "Jessica was super social and energetic,"
recalls an eyewitness, who claims she treated the Dallas Cowboys quarterback to
a lap dance during Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie." The mag says Romo was also
spotted swigging champagne from the bottle as the DJ spun "You're the One That I
Want" from the "Grease" soundtrack (in his defense, alcohol is usually
necessary to make it through that song). "Jess and Tony were really
affectionate, hugging and kissing," adds a spy to People. "They're really sweet
with each other." Yet another bystander pipes in that the Texas twosome looked
"insanely happy together," with a pal concluding, "Tony loves that girl." Just
don't ask him if he plans to propose. "I'm sure I'll get married one day," Romo
tap-danced to People on Monday at Cosmo's Fun Fearless Male of the Year Awards
in New York, dismissing engagement talk as "rumors." "I don't know when."
Coincidentally, the NFL-er shared the honor -- and posed for pictures -- with a
former Simpson flame and a rumored onetime fling, prompting him to joke (via
Us), "I was thinking, you have John Mayer, Dane Cook. If you date Jessica Simpson, I guess you're fun
and fearless."
Winona Ryder and Blake Sennett at a Paris
fashion show on Feb. 28 |
Is Winona Ryder's fabled musician dating spree finally at an
end? According to rumblings out of Paris Fashion Week, the
actress-cum-Saks-pilferer supposedly announced her engagement to Blake Sennett,
the front man for indie outfit Rilo Kiley and a former child actor (you might
remember his fine work as "Joey the Rat" on "Boy Meets
World"), at the Valentino runway show, where they showed off matching
swoopy-banged pixie cuts. Her reps, however, deny the betrothal talk to
PageSix.com, saying, "It's not true," and blaming the confusion on a photo
caption mistake. But Winona, 36, who once upon a time was engaged to Johnny Depp, is making beautiful music with Sennett,
who joins a not-so-exclusive club that reportedly includes -- deep breath --
Dave Pirner (Soul Asylum), Adam Duritz (Counting Crows), Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes), Beck, Ryan Adams, Evan Dando, Pete Yorn and Rhett Miller (Old 97's).
For months, the tabloids claimed that Jennifer Aniston and Jason Lewis were an item, despite both insisting they'd
never actually met. Turns out they can't use that excuse any longer. People
reports that on Feb. 23, the same night the actress apparently enjoyed the attentions of Orlando Bloom at the Night Before soiree in Los Angeles, she
turned up at Soho House with the "Sex and the
City" eye candy. According to Aniston's rep, the blond pair met for the
first time that night and "had a good laugh about how they were supposed to be
together." As for that strapping mystery man Jen was spied with as she departed
BFF Courteney Cox's Oscar night bash, he's "a friend, not
romantic," pooh-poohs the mouthpiece.
"Do I think we are going to get married? Probably. Will it make a difference?
I hope not. I don't have a need for marriage." That's Salma Hayek, talking to Glamour about whether she plans to
walk down the aisle with her moneybags fiancé, François Henri Pinault, the
father of her five-month-old daughter, Valentina. "You want to grow old with
someone, you want to have a partner and to have children -- we have all those
things," says the actress. "Some people need the commitment. Maybe we'll just
make the party!"
Joel and Nicole at the Sony/BMG Grammy
afterparty in Los Angeles on Feb. 10 |
Speaking of marriage and baby carriages, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden flash matching bands as
they pose with 6-week-old daughter Harlow in the latest issue of People, but
they're apparently not looking to make things legal anytime soon. "We're all
wondering what the holdup is," an insider tells E! News. "But they don't seem to
be in any hurry. They don't even talk about it anymore." Still, the snitch says
the starlet is so thrilled with motherhood that she's already talking about how
she wants four more Madden spawn. "She's saying she's always wanted five kids,
and Joel doesn't seem to disagree," tattles the source. "Whatever Nicole wants,
Nicole gets." Richie, who is reportedly contemplating taking on the Roxie Hart
role in the Broadway production of "Chicago," seems content with the status quo,
telling People, "We're committed to Harlow and we're committed to our family."
