Will Sean Preston and Jayden James soon have another male figure hanging
around that they'll confuse for their daddy? The New York Post says Britney Spears, who was reportedly drop-kicked over the phone on Sunday by model-beau Isaac
Cohen, hit the Manhattan club scene Tuesday night with pals. A snitch tells
the paper that one persistent admirer was "hitting on her all night, but she
wouldn't even look at him. Then, a model guy came to her table [at hot spot
Tenjune] and she started making out with him." The spiraling pop starlet
supposedly capped off her busy night with a stop at McDonald's.
Like sands through the hourglass, or at least blood through the vial, these
are the days of Kate Moss and Pete Doherty's dysfunctional lives. Seems
recent reports that the unstable squeezes had decided to take a breather were premature. This week,
the perforation- and rehab-prone Babyshambles rocker was snapped outside the model's London
home, and already the rumor mill is churning with the duo's latest relationship
drama. According to the Daily Mirror, Moss has put the kibosh on Doherty's plans
to attend the Brit Awards next week because she's jealous -- you know, 'cause
he's such a catch -- of his burgeoning friendship with feisty British singer Lily Allen. "Pete insisted that she was being paranoid, they
were just mates," a mole tells the tab. "But Kate was having none of it and said
that there was no way that Pete was going to the Brits if Lily was going,
especially as she wasn't going herself. Pete was gutted as he was looking
forward to it."
Could Paul McCartney be inching closer to ensuring Heather Mills
will keep her cakehole closed about their four-year marriage? The London Daily
Mirror reports the embattled ex-Beatle has given his lawyers the go-ahead to make
a $50-million settlement offer to his estranged missus (and the mother of his
3-year-old daughter, Beatrice) to avoid airing their dirty laundry in
court. "He is absolutely determined to keep his private life hidden from public
scrutiny," a snitch tattles to the paper. "There's war weariness creeping in."
Mills' legal pitbulls had no comment on the settlement chatter, but a source
hints that negotiations are still in progress.
Drew Barrymore and Kylie Minogue want everyone to know that just
because their respective long-term romances with scruffy, easy-on-the-eyes guys
have gone kablooey, they're doing just dandy. "Just look at my face -- I can't
stop smiling!" enthuses Drew to People of how she's faring following her recent
breakup with Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti. "I'm very happy!" The
amiable star, who looked lovely Wednesday night as she stepped out for the Los
Angeles premiere of "Music and Lyrics" in a halter-neck gown, is also laughing
off rumors that she snuggled up to funnyman Zach Braff at a shindig following her "Saturday Night Live" stint last weekend. "I talked to him at
a party," Drew maintains to "Extra." "If I make out with someone, all bets are
off. If I go out with someone, all bets are off. But talk to somebody? This
world has gone mad."
As for Kylie, she also appears to be taking a page from the "looking good is
the best revenge" playbook in the wake of her split from Olivier Martinez. On Tuesday night in London, she donned a
flowing purple Dolce & Gabbana gown and a couple million dollars' worth of
Bulgari diamonds for the opening of a museum exhibit filled with her
often-outrageous onstage outfits. "I'm good," the glowing pop princess assured
fans (via the London Mirror). "I'm fine."
Let's hope Halle Berry isn't expecting anything bright and shiny from
boyfriend Gabriel Aubry this Valentine's Day. "I don't think it's about gifts,"
the strapping male model tells People of the corporate-sponsored day of
mushiness. "It's more about presence. You have to be there. You can't really
spend Valentine's Day apart. I can't be in New York if she's in L.A. It doesn't
work. So I try to be there most of the time and that's more precious to me." And
though the ridiculously good-looking lovebirds have been dating for more than a
year, don't expect them to make things legal (the twice-divorced Berry has vowed
never to walk down the aisle again). Says Aubry, "We don't even talk about it."
