Jessica Simpson should probably just back slowly away from
the pom-poms. The starlet turned up in Dallas on Sunday to watch her Cowboys
beau Tony Romo take on the Philadelphia Eagles, but it seems her future as a
cheerleader is about as bright as her big screen prospects ("Blonde Ambition" is reportedly heading straight to DVD, with
"Major Movie Star" possibly to follow).
Jessica's prominent presence at the game has led some football fans to accuse
her of jinxing Tony, who posted the worst gridiron showing of his career with
three interceptions and 13 of 36 completed passes (he also bruised the thumb on
his throwing hand).
Joe Simpson tries to explain to Jessica why the Zamboni won't be
appearing on the football field at halftime.

The overzealous blonde, who sat with her joined-at-the-hip
dad-manager-string-puller Joe Simpson in a luxury box, did her best to support
her quarterback boyfriend of barely a month, shouting his name and pumping her
fist while looking poutily picture-perfect in her many Fox-provided close-ups.
Not only was her hair and makeup red carpet-ready, but she was also sporting
a less than subtle white Cowboys jersey adorned with Romo's number in pink.
Jess probably couldn't have foreseen that her carefully planned appearance
would be used to highlight a recap reel of Romo's various off-the-mark plays, or
that it would incite the ire of her fellow Texans.
The Dallas Morning News reports that as Romo was getting into his car outside
the stadium Sunday night, a female fan hollered, "Worry about the game, not your
girlfriend!"
But a Simpson source defensively tells People that it's "ridiculous" to
implicate her in Tony's terrible performance, pointing out, "He played a great
game on Thanksgiving and she was there."
The NFL-er's dismal pigskin showing has also prompted speculation that he
suffers from performance anxiety when it comes to famous blonde flames.
According to the AP, his previous career-worst walloping took place this time
last year, again at the hands of the Eagles, as his rumored girlfriend Carrie Underwood watched from the stands.
Meanwhile, rumors continue to bubble that the budding squeezes have set their romance to fast-forward.
Both are mum on a report from the Chicago Sun-Times claiming the clean-cut QB
(save for that purported Britney lap dance encounter) recently eyeballed some rings.
"It has been a whirlwind romance, that's for sure,'' a Romo confidante tells
the paper. ''But they both seem so much in love when you're around them.''
 Eva
Longoria puts on a happy face at the Spurs game. She hasn't smiled this
much since Teri Hatcher got dumped by Ryan
Seacrest. |
Also putting in a conspicuous appearance as an athletic supporter is
Simpson's pal Eva Longoria, who turned up on Thursday at the Staples
Center in Los Angeles to watch her injured, affair-accused husband Tony Parker sit on the bench as his
San Antonio Spurs were defeated by the L.A. Lakers.
People reports the actress, her doorknob-size wedding ring still glistening
atop her finger, exchanged small talk in the stands with friends Mario Lopez and Kevin Connolly and happily took pictures with
fans.
Hours earlier, it was Tony's turn to play loyal spouse, with Us Weekly
reporting he paid a visit to Eva during a photoshoot.
"... [She] acted as if nothing could possibly be wrong," a mole tells the
mag. "At the end of the day, they came out holding hands and seemed very much
together."
Parker also lived up to Longoria's declaration that he "has been nothing
short of the perfect husband" by carrying her huge and frilly pink purse in full
view of the paparazzi.
After the game, the embattled duo ventured out for sushi with friends at the
conveniently shutterbug-surrounded eatery Katsuya, where People says a
"noticeably subdued" Parker put his arm around Longoria and kissed her forehead
before exiting the restaurant holding tightly to her hand.
They were just as lovey-dovey on Friday night when they landed in San
Antonio, where they "snuggled on an escalator," clasped digits and shared a
smooch as they made their way through the airport.
"They are perfectly happy," proclaims an optimistic source to People,
"despite everything that's going on."
