Is Jessica Simpson's fledgling romance with Tony Romo
set to warp speed? In Touch claims the unlucky-in-love starlet, who reportedly
introduced the Dallas Cowboys quarterback to her
grandparents over Thanksgiving weekend, recently met his folks.
"The meeting went well, and she had a great time with them," an insider tells
the mag (via Perez Hilton). "His parents seemed to really like her."
And just in case there was any doubt about the depth of Simpson's schmoopy
feelings for her squeeze of barely a month, the source helpfully shares,
"She's falling completely in love with him."
While Jessica is said to have her matchmaking dad-manager-string-puller Joe
Simpson to thank for her hookup with Romo, there are whispers her little sister
Ashlee is having some daddy issues over her beau, Pete Wentz.

Star claims Joe banned the coif-impaired Fall Out Boy front man from the family's Christmas
gathering partly because of an interview he gave earlier this year in which he
confessed to being a "make-out king" who's smooched girls and boys.
"Joe was skeptical about the relationship from the start," alleges a source,
adding that Ashlee is "upset" by the rejection, but "she values her dad's
opinions and has agreed."
Nuh-uh, proclaims Pete, who insists there's been no Scrooge-like freeze-out
from the Simpson clan's holiday festivities.
"I think Joe gets a really bad rap in the press. He's always been nothing but
nice to me," Wentz avows to MTV News. "He even called me to let me know he
expects me to show up for Christmas. So there's no truth to that [rumor]."
In related rumor denial news, Jessica is putting the kibosh on whispers that
she freaked out on pal Eva Longoria because she recently chatted up her ex,
John Mayer, at a Manhattan hot spot, reports the New York
Post.
"When Jessica heard that Eva was being friendly and polite to John, she
called her a back-stabber and was furious," tattled a snitch.
But Simpson's rep maintains she's as tight as ever with her "Desperate Housewives" chum,
telling the paper, "There's no truth to Jessica being upset with Eva Longoria.
They are great friends."
Speaking of Mayer, he says he has no regrets about his recent admission to Ricki Lake over how he spent his childhood dreamily
watching her deal with dysfunctional people on the small screen.
"When you meet someone that you've had a crush on when you were a kid, you
go, 'Hey! I've had a huge crush on you since I was a kid!'" the Casanova crooner
comments to "Access Hollywood."
But he says a subsequent New York Post item made too much out of their
confab.
"I'm not gonna go up to a woman and mess with her head," explains Mayer. "I
got no problem saying to someone I got a crush and I'll say it again to the next
person I had a crush on since I was a kid ... I'm not gonna let some stupid Page
Six story make me not want to live my life anymore."
As for Lake, who already downplayed the encounter to Howard Stern, she swoons to "Access," "I can't imagine
anything more flattering to me at this point in my life than John Mayer telling
me he has a crush on me. He's a wonderful guy."
