Are even ridiculously named celebrity offspring feeling the effects of the tanking economy? The New York Post claims Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz haven't exactly touched off a bidding war for the first snaps of 3-week-old son Bronx Mowgli. "Pete and Ashlee have approached every single celebrity magazine with offers to sell their first photos, but nobody wants them," a source snipes to the paper. "Covers of them tend not to sell well." Wentz, however, adamantly denies the report, saying they've made a decision to keep Bronx under wraps for now. "Truth is, like every celeb couple, we were offered mounds and mounds of money by mags from here to Guam to pimp out the baby," Wentz wrote Thursday on his Web site. "We just don't want to go down that road with him." But the Fall Out Boy bassist makes it clear that he's not dissing the likes of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who have negotiated big money deals for their tot shots. "We are not placing judgment on those that do as they often use the money in a very charitable way," Pete explains. "However, we have made the decision to not sell Bronx's baby pictures right now." The new dad says he and Ashlee "understand the curiosity, just not the viciousness that comes along with it when it becomes so insatiable. We know there will be a time when we'll share him with everyone because that insatiable curiosity becomes unsafe or simply because we're proud parents who want to show him off!" Adds a proud Wentz, "Trust me, he's cute. He looks like his mommy." Pictures or no, Ashlee looked glowy as she made her post-baby debut earlier this week, stepping out in Los Angeles to support her pocketsize husband as he performed with Fall Out Boy on Monday and debuted his new art show on Tuesday. "Motherhood is the most fantastic experience I have ever been thru," she rhapsodized on her MySpace blog Wednesday. "Bronx makes me laugh and smile everyday!"

David Duchovny and Téa Leoni: friendly exes or something more? The Boston Herald says the couple, who announced in October that they were kaput after 11 years and two kids together, recently enjoyed a "cozy" dinner in picturesque New Bedford, Mass. "They were sitting next to each other, getting along and having what seemed like a great time," an eyewitness tells the paper. "They left together." But the Chicago Sun-Times says things seemed somewhat chillier between Leoni and Duchovny, who entered rehab for a sex addiction in August, when they made a courtside appearance at a New York Knicks game last weekend with daughter Madelaine West, 9, and son Kyd, 6. "All of the conversation clearly was started by David," recalls a spy. "Téa was responding with one-word answers -- 'Yes,' 'No,' 'I see' -- pretty much the entire time."

Drew Barrymore has said she likes guys who are "smart, weird, funny and sharp," but has she found that in Jason Segel? That's the word from Star, which alleges the lately on-the-prowl star was seen looking friendly with the actor-writer ("Forgetting Sarah Marshall," "How I Met Your Mother") at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles late last month. "Drew was all over Jason, rubbing him and kissing his face," says a spy. "He was on cloud nine." Barrymore has been playing the field since ending her nearly yearlong tonsil-fest with Justin Long in July, including enjoying a brief interlude with "Gossip Girl" star Ed Westwick in October, when the two were snapped locking lips at a New York club.

Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady are closing in on two years of impossibly comely coupledom, and the tabloids are commemorating the occasion with a marked increase in nuptial chatter. On the heels of In Touch's claims that the Brazilian supermodel and the benched New England Patriots quarterback are planning a "small wedding" in March in Costa Rica, the New York Daily News reports that Gisele was overheard telling friends over lunch how a recent ring-shopping expedition with Tom ended with them wrangling over the size of the rock. Seems he wants her to have a doorknob-sized sparkler, while she prefers a bauble that's more "antique-looking and understated." Bundchen, for her part, brushed off the persistent knot-tying whispers in September, downplaying to Spanish Vogue, "I'm happy as I am. Why is the whole world worked up about my getting married? I'm having a great time and I want to enjoy it." By the by, Gisele's ex, Leonardo DiCaprio, appears to be back on with model Bar Refaeli. The New York Post spotted the sometime squeezes checking out flat-screen TVs last week in Manhattan.

Gwyneth Paltrow celebrated her five-year anniversary with Chris Martin last week, but their marital longevity has done little to quell persistent rumors of a rough patch, which her rep has previously dismissed as "rubbish." An insider tells the New York Daily News that the Oscar winner and her Coldplay hubby, who are parents to Apple, 4, and Moses, 2, are spending quality time together in their London home in an attempt "to make their marriage better." "Gwyneth says she's totally fine," the source tells the paper. "She's used the phrase 'perfectly happy' a bunch of times, and refuses to read any of the tabloid tales to the contrary." But is newly single friend Madonna causing problems for the GOOP-happy actress? "Gwyneth has the Madonna bug ... bad," maintains the snitch. "It's eerie. Gwyneth acts normally until Madonna comes around, and then Gwyn is all about Madonna, all the time. Madge has even introduced Gwyneth to all her friends. Now, instead of going to see Chris perform, she'd rather hang out with people like Alex Rodriguez and Ingrid Casares." Not so, says Paltrow's mouthpiece, who scoffs to the paper that the Madonna talk is "complete nonsense." Martin, meanwhile, showed off a rare smile while hitting the slides at Winter Wonderland in London's Hyde Park on Wednesday with his kids. Gwyneth, who makes a point never to be seen in public with the rocker, was a no-show for the outing.

Has Paris Hilton been royally dissed? In what's shaping up to become this week's most dubious story, FOXNews.com claims the newly Benji Madden-less, alcohol-guzzling starlet will ring in the new year at a bash in Sydney, Australia -- a shindig that Prince William was also invited to. But the heir to the throne, who crossed paths with Paris a couple months back while she was in London filming the British version of her "BFF" series, has supposedly been ordered to keep his distance from her. "William really wanted to go," alleges a monarchy mole. "But he has been told under no circumstances is he to associate with Paris." As for Madden, who just underwent a post-breakup noggin buzzing, he apparently wants to head Down Under to try to woo Hilton once again. "She won't take him back," sniffs a Paris insider to FOX News. "She's over it." That's apparently news to Hilton's mom, Kathy, who told Us this week, "I know that they talk all the time. ... They both really care about each other a lot." Mama Hilton is even holding out hope for a reconciliation, saying, "You know what? One never knows what's going to happen. Anything is possible."
