Nuptial Nattering: Ring Shopping for Jessica & Tony?

With their one-year anniversary a little less than two months away, Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo are once again being hit with engagement speculation.

The latest rumblings come courtesy of the Chicago Sun-Times, which says the oversharing starlet and her quarterback beau were spotted at a Neiman Marcus in Dallas a few days back browsing "big sparklers" of the question-popping variety.

And while we always figured that Jess, who did her trademark face-contorting belting as she performed on "Dancing With the Stars" Tuesday night, was more of a Tiffany kind of girl rather than one who would shop for important baubles in proximity to the makeup counter, the paper floats the possibility of an impending aisle-walk.

Word is, there are discussions in the works about a winter wedding, an ostensible knot-tying that would take place after the Cowboy star's football season ends.

At least Jessica's endless Tony-related gushing means it's unlikely he's harboring many illusions about what the future might hold, namely, Dutch ovens and stupid human tricks.

"To be my man, you have to put up with a lot," Simpson recently told People. "I toot under the sheets, I spend a lot of money and I can belch the ABCs."

These latest betrothal whispers come four months after Us Weekly reported that Simpson had begun referring to Romo as "my future husband" and claimed the NFL-er had been spied checking out diamond rings.

Scarlett debuts her engagement ring at the Costume Institute Gala in New York last May.

Meanwhile, in other wedding news, more details are emerging about the surprise and ultra-private weekend I dos of Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds.

According to People, the ceremony took place at the swanky Clayoquot Wilderness Resort on Vancouver Island, a secluded setting that provided plenty of outdoorsy activities for the lovebirds' three dozen or so guests.

Among the fresh air-filled offerings: horseback riding, mountain biking and fishing.

The mag says the ab-tastic Canadian actor, 31, tried his luck at reeling in salmon and halibut, which seems a mite greedy given that he already landed one of the biggest catches around.

"Scarlett wanted a ceremony with just family and a few select friends," says a source, with another adding that the prepossessing newlyweds plan to toss a less intimate celebration sometime soon.

Sure, some cynical types (hey, don't look at us) might wonder what the odds are of them sticking together until one of 'em drops dead, especially given that the bride is a mere 23 and has only been dating the groom for just over a year, but at least one insider believes it's a match made in Hollywood heaven.

"They make a great couple," enthuses the confidant, "and they'll make an even better married couple."

Meanwhile, Melissa Etheridge and Tammy Lynn Michaels are looking to renew the vows they exchanged in 2003 now that gay marriage is legal in California.

"We're trying to find the right time now actually to go down and do it," the singer tells "Extra" of making things official. "[That] is where we're at."

The couple has not-quite-2-year-old twins, son Miller Steven and daughter Johnnie Rose, along with 11-year-old daughter Bailey Jean and 9-year-old son Beckett, both of whom are from Etheridge's former relationship with Julie Cypher.
