The hot new Hollywood trend: double bundles of joy. According to Us Weekly,
not only is smooth-foreheaded "Desperate Housewives" actress Marcia Cross, 44, awaiting a dual stork delivery with
husband Tom Mahoney, but "Grey's Anatomy" doc Patrick Dempsey, 40, and wife Jillian are also adding
twins to their family (they already have a 4-year-old daughter). Sidesteps
Cross' rep, "I am only aware she is pregnant." Other couples anticipating twice
the number of poopie diapers in the coming months include Diddy and Kim Porter, Melissa Etheridge and Tammy Lynn Michaels and Elvis Costello and Diana Krall.
In somewhat less exciting baby news, actress Kimberly Williams and her husband, country crooner
Brad Paisley, will welcome their first offspring in February, says People. Also jumping
on board the mommy track is Annabeth Gish, who is reportedly due
in January.
"I knew she was smart and savvy but when people use their star power for
people who have no power at all, it always inspires me." That's Bono, singing
the praises of -- wait for it -- Lindsay Lohan to People. Seems the U2 do-gooder is impressed with the tabloid-bait,
accident-prone starlet's commitment to his charitable One campaign.
Britney Spears is doing what she can to ensure that Kevin Federline's more-sad-than-mad rhyming skills are heard
by as many innocent people as possible. Seems the erstwhile pop starlet will
leave Sean Preston, 1, and newborn Sutton Pierce at home on Halloween to host a
record release party in Los Angeles for her hubby's debut effort, "Playing With
Fire." The CD, which features a Britney-Kevin duet dubbed "Crazy," is available
for pre-order, with the first 500 hapless souls who hand over their hard-earned
moolah rewarded with a signed K-Fed headshot. Also up for grabs is a grand prize
trip to the Britney-hosted bash. Alas, the runner-up will be stuck with the
sneakers Federline styled when he stunk up the Teen Choice Awards. Meanwhile,
the producer of Spears' long-in-the-works album can't rave enough about her
bubblegum pop-spouting pipes. "When she gets behind the mic there's a magic that
comes out," J.R. Rotem tells MTV News, "and the music that we're doing is the
next level."
Rosie O'Donnell's frequent body-function talk on "The
View" often has us near tears, but is her liberal stance also sending her
conservative co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck running for the tissues? "She is
crying every day," a snitch tells the New York Daily News. "No one can control
Rosie, and Elisabeth can't contain her feelings. She gets so upset all the
time." Rosie's rep, however, denies the waterworks whispers, telling the paper,
"Elisabeth was at Rosie's house this weekend with her daughter, Grace. They
might not agree on politics, but that's what makes the show great. Ratings are
up 59 percent." |
