The music: Certainly, one goes to an Eric Clapton show to see his hits performed, and they do come
in droves. Timeless tracks such as "Layla," "Cocaine" and "White Room" are as
moving today as they were a quarter-century ago. That said, it is the
guitar-playing that makes a Clapton concert so unique. Seeing the master up
close, and watching him play one of his 80 vintage Stratocasters, is a
revelation. The man truly is an artist of the rarest order, and no matter how
brilliant his records are, in a live setting his genius is simply captivating.
