2008 CMA Festival Preview

MSN Music

The Country Music Association touts the CMA Festival as "4 days, 30 hours of autograph signings, 100 hours of live music, 400 country music artists and celebrities, and thousands of revved up music lovers," a party line that actually understates the scope of this annual Nashville pilgrimage. Founded in 1972 as Fan Fair, the bash is unique among live music gatherings for its emphasis on bringing listeners in direct contact with their favorite artists. Last year's festival broke attendance records to draw 191,000 visitors, and the 2008 edition, running from June 4 through 8, boasts another strong lineup. Here's a preview of just some of the major artists expected to perform this year, including Alan Jackson (pictured), performing June 7. (Arista Nashville/Country Music Association)
