The 'Roo Preview
"Do you 'roo?" That was the common refrain of the early days of the festival,
when we were only beginning to know our way around from the What, Who and Why
stages (and the This and That tents). Centeroo was pretty easy, being at the
center and all, but the sprawling campsite with its own street signs (I've heard
that for the one weekend each year, Bonnaroo becomes the sixth largest city in
Tennessee) is a wonder to behold, and unless you draw yourself a map you're
likely to get lost in that sea of music-loving humanity. From its earliest
inception to its current place as the pre-eminent music festival in the country
(frankly, it's held that position since its first announcement), the Bonnaroo
Music Festival has had a wide-ranging musical spectrum, delivering honest music
with integrity. It's a pity (for us) that we can't be there this year --
instead, we're building you this awesome gallery of artists (like Pearl Jam,
pictured) who will be playing that wonderful farm in Tennessee.
