The Voice. A native of Tacoma, Washington,
Martinez began performing at age 13 and has released several independent albums. At age 16, she auditioned successfully for Fox's
American Idol but ultimately turned down the opportunity. Prior to appearing on
The Voice,
Martinez also competed on
Star Search in 2003. In 2011, she released her final performance on
The Voice -- her original song "Afraid to Sleep" -- on iTunes. After
