Biography
Although the Austin, TX, quartet of 5head has had the comparisons of Sebadoh, Pavement, Archers of Loaf, and Superchunk thrown at them, their tag of lo-fi, mood swing pop has prevented them from being a "carbon copy" act. Collectively made up of David Francis Comeau (drums), Jeffrey Warren Jones (bass/organ), John Paul Hunt (guitar/vocals), and Frank Beaty Wilson (guitar), 5head released a handful of 7"s through Big Bucket Club Records, including their 1998 self-titled EP. The following year,Big Bucket Club continued their relationship with 5head as the band put out their first album It's Not All Good and It's Not Right On. The group switched to Peek-a-Boo for the Goodie 7" and a contribution to the Book of Spells compilation, then released the Big Mistake Factory EP on Tight Spot in 2001. ~ Mike DaRonco, All Music Guide
