Taylor Swift's pop transition: She's 'becoming more of a product,' Brad Paisley says

Entertainment Tonight.

Taylor Swift's first official foray into pop music has been somewhat polarizing for fans, but country superstar Brad Paisley is on-board with this transition.

Calling her crossover "admirable," Paisley told E! Online that he was impressed with Swift's ability to "say in a risky way, 'I am going to evolve beyond what you know me for already.'"Swift has long shifted between country and pop music, but recently made it official: Her next album will go down in history as "pop."

"For the record, this is my very first documented official pop album," Swift said during a recent live stream in which she announced her new album and debuted her current single, "Shake It Off."

"People are going to have to get used to it cause it's not the Taylor Swift obviously that you knew," Paisley said. "She was talking about how she cut her hair, and she is spending time in different cities more and becoming more of a product -- and she is a world famous superstar now. She is not just Nashville's, [and] we just have to kind of get used to that."

Paisley recently made his reality TV debut as a judge on ABC's competition series "Rising Star" and now he's releasing his brand new album, "Moonshine in the Trunk." Wonder if Taylor has bought her copy yet?

What do you think of Taylor's career evolution?

Let's see.  ISiS beheads another journalist while Obama hems and haws, and oh yeah, plays golf.  ISIS is operating in a northern Mexican city.  ISIS is threatening to attack the US.  ISIS is murdering untold thousands of innocent people in iraq and Syria.  Russia is invading the sovereign nation of Ukraine.  Taylor Swift is going pop.  In this world right now, it seems a lot shallow to give a damn what music genre Taylor Swift is performing.  In other words, who cares about Taylor Swift going pop!

I think most people who've heard her sing knew this was coming.
If you've heard her sing a cappella there's not much there. So going the way of pop and relying heavily on electronic support makes sense. She's good looking and sings songs that appeal to vapid girls, so as an entertainer she won't be hurting for fans.

I wonder if she would have gone as far as she did in the days before TV and internet... When all people could judge you on was how your voice sounded coming from the radio. You could be ugly enough to induce blindness and still be welcome if you could sing with the best of them.

I guess country is something you feel and if you don't feel it, if it no longer describes who you are then you shouldn't sing it anymore. It would sound phoney anyway so sing about what you love.

CONSIDERING TAYLOR SWIFT HAS GAIN SO MUCH SUCCESS AT AN EARLY AGE, ISN'T IT FAIR HER MUSIC WOULD EVOLVE?  HER MUSIC & LYRICS WOULD NATURALLY CHANGE, AS HER PERSONAL LIFE & CAREER GROWS.  NOT COUNTRY ENOUGH TO BEGIN WITH & NOW TOO POP - IT SEEMS LIKE SHE'S JUST FEELING CONFIDENT & TAKING RISKS!   I GIVE HER CREDIT FOR NOT ACTING LIKE A TRAIN WRECK, & PRAISE HER FASHION STYLE!!  THIS TALENTED LADY WILL HOPEFULLY, KEEP TAKING CHANCES!!!
