Stevie Nicks challenges fans to knit her a new shawl

Stevie Nicks has set crafty fans the challenge of knitting her a new shawl she'll model on her website.

The Fleetwood Mac star has partnered with Talenthouse for a competition that will reward the winner with a cash prize and a professional photo of Nicks wearing the shawl. The winner and the photo will also be featured on Nicks' website and social media pages.

Announcing the contest on Friday, the "Rhiannon" singer said, "In 1968, a very handsome boy brought me a poncho from South America. I knew it was magic and that someday I would copy it in chiffon or leather or beaded material. I realised that wearing a poncho or a long shawl gave me something to work with up on the stage. Big movements, big twirls, you need to be seen from far away. So I made that a big part of my stage clothes. It became totally intertwined in my fashion style."

The competition ends Sept. 29 and the winner and runner-up will be announced on Oct. 14.

Thank you Sophia :
Your the only one on this blog
that has the common sense
to understand what was requested.
What are these other people ranting about  ?
If you don't want to knit,
DON'T knit.

I see a bunch of sorry **** people in these comments, life must really suck for you all. Aren't there more important news stories out there in the world that would benefit from the obvious wisdom that you all have to impart upon us? I, myself see this as an opportunity to create a work of art, if you've ever seen her perform, she can rock the look. I have so many ideas for it in mind but due to chronic pain and the time constraint, it would be unlikely I could finish it but I may at least try. I have the time, since I don't troll stories to post ignorant comments too

For dinner I am eating a hamburger and dinner is about as worthy of national news as this story.

Although Miss Nicks doesn't say it I really have to assume she will keep 2 or 3 and donate the rest to a women's homeless shelter I mean how many shawls can you have ? I plan on making her one but truly I'm hoping mine is donated/. Hopefully she will clarify that. As long as we're on the knitting subject I knit lap blankets and bring them down to the VA. For our veterans in wheelchairs . It can be done in one skein of yarn. They do love then
