Priscilla Presley tells upset fans to 'calm down'
By ADRIAN SAINZ , Associated Press

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Priscilla Presley is asking fans of her late ex-husband Elvis Presley to "please calm down" after a report that two jets once owned by the singer could be removed from Graceland.

Fans have posted critical comments on Facebook since The Associated Press reported last week that Elvis Presley Enterprises informed the owners of the Lisa Marie and the Hound Dog II to prepare to remove the planes after their agreement ends next April.

The planes were sold after Presley died Aug. 16, 1977, and were eventually purchased by OKC Partnership in Memphis.

OKC Partnership and Graceland agreed to bring the two jets to Graceland in the mid-1980s.

Priscilla Presley posted two comments on her Facebook page. One asks fans to "please calm down, we're in the midst of negotiations."

I am genuinely confused about why fans would be upset about jets owned by Presley being removed. It's not like they were sold recently; that happened over three decades ago. It's not like private jets are connected to musical talent; they still have a museum, a house, and a large discography to listen to. Not to mention Presley's films and TV appearances. I just don't see how the location of jets formerly owned by the guy either adds to or detracts from his legacy.

The King is dead and I know some who live for him, dream of him and visit him at his grave. His family members are famous only because of him and not for their lack of talent, per se. People need to get a life!

I'd hate to see the planes go also >BUT< I'd also bet my last dollar that it has nothing to do with the planes themselves... it's the property they sit on. They are not actually at Graceland, (for those who have not been there)  they are parked across the street by the museum. Wanna bet somebody wants to build something there ? THAT'S what the negotiations are about.

"Uh Huh, Uh Huh, All Shook Up"....Geez, I thought these planes would be all classy inside, but in reality they're boring mid-60's era on the inside....The "King" must of only had a couple bucks to his name when he designed the interiors.....but, with all of that said, they shouldn't move them.....seen pictures of the inside of them......
