3rd Bass rapper admits tax fraud

Rapper Peter Nash of 3rd Bass has been convicted of tax fraud.

Nash, whose stage name was Prime Minister Pete Nice, pleaded guilty to a charge of misdemeanor criminal tax fraud during an appearance at Albany County Court in New York on Tuesday. He has been ordered to repay $13,101 in back taxes, interest and charges stemming from the years 2009 through to 2011.

Nash is expected to be handed three years probation when he is sentenced on Aug. 26. The former hip-hop star enjoyed success in the late 1980s and early 1990s with his 3rd Bass bandmates MC Serch and DJ Richie Rich, releasing three albums and enjoying a chart hit with their track "Pop Goes the Weasel."

The trio disbanded in 1992, and again in 2000 after a failed reunion.

Not far off the heels of my alma mater, Bishop Ford High School had to close, presumed on serious financial problems under the leadership of Nash's father.

First off, who names their son Prime MInister?  Probably the same person who named her daughter Messiah, (as if she's the savior of humanity!)  Does it surprise anyone that a (c)rapper would cheat on taxes?  I thought not.
