Top 5 CMT Music Awards performances

Entertainment Tonight

If you expected the 2014 CMT Music Awards to only include "songs about whiskey" country music performances, you'd be wrong. The Wednesday night show in Nashville also had paint explosions, R&B artists and spoof songs.

In case you missed the CMT Music Awards -- here are our top five picks for best performances.

1. Paint Party! -- Little Big Town got doused in paint when they sang "Day Drinking."

2. Kristen's Spoof -- Hosting for a third time, Kristen Bell sang a silly song about male country crooner style. She started singing about seven minutes into her monologue.

3. "Somethin' Bad" -- Country music's beloved blonde duo Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood hit the stage to perform their energetic number.

4. Crossover Artist -- John Legend showed up in Nashville to perform a country version of his hit ballad "All of Me" alongside Jennifer Nettles and Hunter Hayes.

5. Who Isn't On Stage?! -- This might be the largest collaboration we've seen on the CMT Music Awards yet! Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan, Jason Derulo and ZZ Top performed a medley of" La Grange," "This Is How We Roll" and "Talk Dirty."
