Colombian politician wants Shakira's new video banned

WENN

A top official in Shakira's native Colombia has condemned the singer's racy new video, insisting scenes featuring her and duet partner Rihanna are "a danger to children."

Bogota politician Marco Fidel Ramirez has urged bosses at Colombia's National Television Authority to ban the video for Shakira's new song "Can't Remember to Forget You" because it features scenes of the topless singers getting intimate and rolling around provocatively on a bed wearing skimpy lingerie.

Expressing his concern on Twitter, Ramirez writes, "Shakira's new video is a shameless case for lesbianism and immorality. It is a danger to children. It sends a provocative message to weak people who can be polluted and induced to practice (lesbianism)."

Meanwhile, a post on his website reads: "Ramirez is vindicated as the defender of principles and values and profoundly laments that the talented Colombian singer has allowed herself to be part of the moral decomposition by participating in a simply disgusting video with Rihana (sic) another renowned musical artist."

See out the video.

Seriously? This is more appropriate than video's of Myley Cyrus naked on a recking ball. Shakira's video show's more class and a there is a ban request?

If Ramirez said  it was "a danger to children" because it glamorizes smoking cigars, maybe I could see his point, but not because they are "getting intimate and rolling around provocatively on a bed wearing skimpy lingerie." That's ridiculous.
