Lady Gaga: I don't care that Madonna doesn't like me

Lady Gaga has reignited her feud with Madonna by insisting she has no interest in becoming the next Queen of Pop and doesn't care about the superstar's opinion of her.

Bing: Lady Gaga to sing in space

The pair has been embroiled in a spat since 2011 after Gaga's hit "Born This Way" was widely compared to Madonna's 1989 track "Express Yourself." Following the comparison, Madonna has taken several swipes at Gaga, performing a mash-up of both songs during her 2012 MDNA tour and jokingly dedicating her track "Masterpiece" to the singer during a concert in New Jersey last year, telling fans, "I'm gonna dedicate this next song to Lady Gaga ... Imitation is the highest form of flattery."

However, Gaga insists she is not bothered by what the Queen of Pop thinks of her and has no interest in taking over her position in the music world. In a radio interview with Howard Stern on Tuesday, she said, "I think she's more aggravated that I'm not upset that she doesn't like me. Because I don't care that she doesn't like me. No, I don't care. It's such nonsense ... There's this thing with some people that I'm a threat to the throne. I don't want your f------ throne and no thanks, I have my own. I actually don't want a throne at all, because I don't view myself as a queen, I view myself as one of my fans."

Only thing Madonna is jealous of is Gaga is 30 years younger.  Old queens hate young ones.

I don't know why Madonna should feel the need to be jealous. She's the biggest selling female artist of all time and just last year had the highest grossing tour, was the top earning celebrity, and broke Super Bowl ratings records (that even the super relevant Beyonce couldn't beat). She is still who all the pop girls look up to, Gaga included. I'm not saying she's perfect or at her peak but to try to act like Madonna's a has-been is delusional.  The numbers just don't add up to that.  She’s had an extremely illustrious career for DECADES now in pop, a genre where there’s a high turnover rate. She's played the media like a fiddle for this long.  I think she knows what she's doing and understands that any publicity is good publicity. 5 years or so into Madonna's career we were getting classics like True Blue and Like a Prayer.  All Gaga seems to have for us is uninspired crap like Applause and Venus. The Artpop era has been underwhelming and her sales will be a huge decline compared to Born This Way.  Love her or hate her, Madonna's longevity is hard to replicate.

As freaky as Gaga is, I tip my hat to how she responded to Madonna.  I do believe Madonna feels threatened by the younger acts (Gaga, Britney etc)  Madonna has been the Queen Bee for so long, and now, she's not so sure.  It's sad because she's trying to hold on.
