Beyonce breaks records on tour Down Under

Beyonce has broken a string of records while touring in Australia and New Zealand, grossing more than $37 million from just 18 dates.

The singerheaded Down Under last month as part of her The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, and it's proven to be a big hit. She shifted 220,000 tickets over 18 shows, breaking attendance records at the Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand, and Australia's Perth Arena, where she wrapped up the trek over the weekend).

Michael Coppel, president of Live Nation Australasia, says, "I've been fortunate enough to have worked with Beyonce since the first Destiny's Child tour in 2000, but this tour has been an absolute standout in terms of the showcasing her unparalleled talent, energy and joy for performing in one of the most spectacular productions ever to visit this country."

Australia is proving a profitable territory for touring superstars. Pink also netted $37 million from her shows there earlier this year, while Bruce Springsteen made $23 million from his Wrecking Ball jaunt.
