Boy George reforming Culture Club

Boy George is reuniting his 1980s pop group Culture Club to record a new album.

The singer, real name George O'Dowd, met up with guitarist Roy Hay in Los Angeles earlier this month to discuss plans to begin working on new material in January with their bassist Mikey Craig and drummer Jon Moss.

Boy George tells Britain's The Sun on Sunday he hopes to recruit top producer Brian Eno for the project, explaining, "There's some interesting ideas about who we want to work with. It's got to be really good... It will be a new record, completely new. There's no point just doing it for nostalgia... We're certainly going to do it."

The "Karma Chameleon" hitmakers had hoped to reform in 2011 to mark their 30th anniversary with a tour, but the trek never materialized.

I love Boy George. His new cd is the best music ive heard in years. All the nasty comments on here from the human creatures out there really is sad. Have people always been this ugly and cynical? i hope Culture Club make a great new album.

Like most bands from previous eras, new material from Culture Club likely won't be terribly relevant.  Sorry, Boy George.  The music buying public has moved along.  Tour if you like, but recording new music likely won't be very successful.

No reunion, please!  Don't pollute the music that is out there any more than what it is now......
