The singer made a surprise return to the music industry earlier this year releasing his first new material for a decade and scoring a hit around the world with his comeback album "The Next Day." Bowie is now preparing to unleash a song he recorded with Arcade Fire after working with the group and producer James Murphy at a studio in New York. The song will reportedly appear on the band's upcoming album "Reflektor."

Bowie has been a fan of the band for many years, and frontman Win Butler previously said of their famous supporter, "I remember when we first met David Bowie and he said, 'You'll definitely be big in the U.K.' He was always enthusiastic about the band."

In what parallel universe is Bowie's "The Next Day" considered a hit?  It barely charted in the U.S., or anywhere else for that matter.  Like many of Bowie's early recorded efforts, it's groundbreaking but not terribly commercial or radio-friendly.  Still, any collaboration with Arcade Fire is bound to benefit both that Canadian band and Bowie.  It's good to have him back, and I hope he tours again soon!!!
