The singer was due to play at the city's Isleta Amphitheater and was already setting up at the outdoor venue when the bad weather hit. Heavy rain and high winds led to power cuts throughout the local area, and the decision was made to postpone the concert until September.

Bryan broke the bad news to fans in a series of posts on his Twitter page, writing, "Hey y'all. Hope everyone is ok. Praying everyone got to they're (sic) vehicles safely... Bad weather here in Albuquerque. Show can't happen tonight. Freakin (sic) bummed..."

A statement from venue execs adds, "Due to dangerous weather conditions, and in the interest of safety, tonight's Luke Bryan concert in Albuquerque has been postponed until 9/22. Original tickets will be honoured for the rescheduled date."

I live here in Albuquerque and the weather was bad. winds were over 80 mph. the rain was to heavy that you could not see in front of you. there was also sighting's of funnel clouds and a tornado was also spotted. I was a scary night. So many branches and trees were knock over  it was really dangerous to be out in the weather. I am glad he did what he did. Thank you Luke!!!!!!!

Way to go LUKE!!!! Better to be safe than sorry. Remember what happened when SugarLand performed at a fair concert. Stage collapse in April 2012. Just looking out for his self,  band members and tour mates FGL and the FANS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good for him! Concern for the fans 1st priority. I knew I liked him for another reason other than his music, which I LOVE!!!!
