The singer was due to play at the city's Isleta Amphitheater and was already setting up at the outdoor venue when the bad weather hit. Heavy rain and high winds led to power cuts throughout the local area, and the decision was made to postpone the concert until September.
Bryan broke the bad news to fans in a series of posts on his Twitter page, writing, "Hey y'all. Hope everyone is ok. Praying everyone got to they're (sic) vehicles safely... Bad weather here in Albuquerque. Show can't happen tonight. Freakin (sic) bummed..."
A statement from venue execs adds, "Due to dangerous weather conditions, and in the interest of safety, tonight's Luke Bryan concert in Albuquerque has been postponed until 9/22. Original tickets will be honoured for the rescheduled date."
