Cher's mother can now boast her own singing success after her debut album entered the Billboard charts.
The singer's mother, 86-year-old Georgia Holt, recorded her first studio album in 1980 with members of Elvis Presley's band, but it took her decades to finally release it. "Honky Tonk Woman" debuted this week at No. 13 on the Heatseekers Albums countdown and at No. 43 on the Top Country Albums list.
The album features a duet with her famous daughter on the track "I'm Just Your Yesterday," as well as renditions of "Love Me Tender" and "Cryin' Time."
Cher could use some lessons from mom on growing old gracefully and with dignity. She is a beautiful lady...never knew she was a singer. Wish her well.
I saw the documentary special a few days ago on Lifetime. It was great! I feel Ms. Holt is due her acolades because she was really a good singer. I would buy her cd is available.
