Agnetha Fältskog: No reunion for ABBA

WENN

Former ABBA star Agnetha Fältskog has hammered another nail in the legendary pop band's coffin -- she has vowed they will never reunite.

Bing: ABBA museum opens

The band members are often asked about the possibility of a comeback to celebrate their phenomenal legacy, but songwriter Bjorn Ulvaeus insisted last month there are no plans to reform. Fältskog spoke in 2010 about her desire to get the band back together for a charity event, but now she has joined Ulvaeus in ruling out a reunion, insisting they are now too old.

She tells British newspaper The Sun, "Ha, the reunion question. I think Bjorn answered that recently. We are too old. It would never be the same and why spoil such special memories? For us and also for fans, I think the music is the best way to remember ABBA on its own."

I do not think anyone expects ABBA to do an energetic show like the ones of the past! Of course they are all older now. Who isn't? I just read of Fleetwood Mac's upcoming tour! They are all in ABBA's age group! ABBA would not have to do a tour, just one performance! But I guess we will never see that. There are no good, or complete live concert videos of ABBA! There are only bits and pieces.ABBA The Movie is the closest thing to a concert  film and it keeps being interrupted by the inane "sub-plot" of some nit wit reporter trying to obtain an exclusive interview with them. Why couldn't they have just put out a concert movie? It makes me furious that they have to be this way about this! Agnetha's latest album is absolutely great! Her voice is great! I don't know about the rest of the group, but if they are anywhere close to being as good as she is, what is the freakin' problem? Do it for the FANS! The fans are who made ABBA what they are! They should  at least acknowledge that by doing one show! Oh well, that's my ABBA rant. I am sure I am not the only fan who feels this way. But, I guess they just don't care about the people who put them where they are today!

Good! As a DJ when they were in their "prime" I can tell you, honestly, I am STILL trying to scrub their existence out of my memory banks!

They aren't all that old either...she's just trying to cover up the fact that she knows what so many others do...they were wretched!

I admire their honesty and respect their thoughts on being too old to do the music the way the fans remember.  It is better than the raft of bands out there now that should be in wheel chairs with Depends.  ie the Rolling Stones et-al
