Reggae great Cedric Brooks dies at 70

Jamaican roots reggae stalwart Cedric Brooks has died after a long battle with diabetes.

The Jamaican saxophone player was 70 when he passed away on Friday at a New York hospital.

Brooks began his music career in the late 1960s as a studio musician and performed with Burning Spear and trumpet player David Madden. He was also a member of ska supergroup The Skatalites.

 RIP Cedric, Truly a legend and a reggae music foundation horn player. Another reggae legend taken too soon. Go see any of the older reggae playeers if you can. We're losing more evert year.

It´s really sad that I'm from Jamaica and never heard of him. We do not highlight these legends.
