Shakira fires back at ex-boyfriend's lawsuit

Shakira has hit back at her ex-boyfriend's allegations he is owed a slice of her fortune for guiding her career, saying she was already a superstar when they met in 2000.

Antonio de la Rua filed a $100 million lawsuit against the Colombian singer last November following the end of their 10-year relationship in 2010.

In his complaint, de la Rua argued he is due a chunk of her earnings after acting as Shakira's manager and helping her negotiate lucrative contracts.

Shakira has now submitted a request demanding the dismissal of his lawsuit, maintaining her ex-boyfriend advised her on some decisions but was never employed as her official manager. The "Whenever, Wherever" hitmaker, who now has a baby son with Spanish soccer star Gerard Pique, says the only agreement she signed with de la Rua was a 2006 document stating they would both keep their own assets in the case of a split.

Sorry I am not entitled to my opinion about the dumbing down of American. Funny how everyone is so eager to attack everyone else regarding their views, their opinions, etc. I guess it's human nature.

I am just a bit disgusted with American's obsession with celebrities. There are real problems that will hit you in the face very soon, and trust me; when that happens, you won't care who divorces whom. In the interim, waste your time on things that should remain personal between couples, and will be addressed in the appropriate forum. A court room.

Have a wonderful day!

dosnt that sound like most lazy men out there?? They want to sit back and drink beer then collect half the money when the female works her butt off and becomes succesfull.  The majority of women have to much self esteem to beg for someone elses money. He needs put a dress on and go cry in the corner.

Even though I find the lawsuit outrageous, it is clear to me that if their genders were "swapped" and a woman was filing the $100 million claim under the same circumstances, there would be a lot less crying of "foul play", and the woman would likely get well rewarded; either in court or by settlement. It will be interesting to see how this pans out....
