New Kid Jonathan Knight apologizes for stage walk-off

New Kids on the Block member Jonathan Knight has apologized after walking offstage during a concert in New York City on Thursday.

Knight took to the stage at Manhattan's iHeartRadio Theater alongside his band mates Donnie Wahlberg, Joey McIntyre, Danny Wood and Jordan Knight but left halfway through the hour-long set and did not return. Reports suggest Knight was visibly out of sync with his band mates, kept to the back of the stage and even answered his cell phone during the performance.

The other group members rallied around the singer, who has battled bouts of anxiety and panic attacks in the past, but when Knight was set to perform the ballad "Survive You," he laughed, attempted to sing and then stopped before exiting the stage, according to

The remaining stars continued and joked that Knight had answered a call of nature and was stuck in the restroom, before continuing the set as a four-piece. Knight has since taken to his Twitter account to apologize to fans, simply writing, "I'm sorry..." Wahlberg attempted to clear the air by posting, "To recap -- Joe was especially dazzling! Jordan was especially amazing! Danny was especially solid & Jon was especially shy!"

I love NKOTB, always have, always will. The group is better now than 20 years ago! Us fans understand Jon and his anxiety and we are ok with it. He is human, after all. Stop making such a big deal over it. He had an attack, he removed himself from the situation, and he will get over it, as have we. If you don't like NKOTB, then don't read articles pertaining to them. We love you Jon and we are here for you!
While it was fun to make fun of them in my youth and I feel bad for the guy. I can't stomach their music but anxiety is a disablity and its really bad taste to mock a person for having a disablity. I'm sure it took a lot for him to get on stage and even more to exit.
