Adam Lambert lands top GLAAD honor

Singer Adam Lambert will be the toast of the upcoming Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards after landing a top honor.

The star has been unveiled as the recipient of this year's Davidson/Valentini Award, which is presented to an openly lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) media professional who promotes equality for the LGBT community. A spokesperson for the organization states, "Adam Lambert's continued success as one of the world's best-selling pop stars shows LGBT people that they can be themselves and make it in a mainstream industry that many feel unfairly rejects them."

Bing: Will Nicki Minaj return for another season of 'American Idol'?

Lambert follows in the footsteps of past honorees including comedienne Sandra Bernhard, actor B.D. Wong, and "Precious" director Lee Daniels, and will receive the prize during the ceremony in San Francisco, California on May 11.

Oh and he didn't want to have his picture taken with all gay celebrities for OUT magazine. There had to be at least one (other LOL) straight person in it.

Isn't this the guy that didn't want to come out until Idol voting was over and then didn't want to advocate for LGBT causes because he didn't want to be political. Now he's done nothing a million other gay entertainers don't do, and they do it better, but this loser gets an award for it. Disgusting.

As usual, all the good ones are taken, gay, and now 30 years too young for me...sniff.
