Billy Joel performs with college student

WENN

Billy Joel made a college student's dream come true by performing onstage with him in Nashville, Tenn.

In January, the singer held a question-and-answer session with students at Vanderbilt University when Michael Pollack asked if he could play "New York State of Mind" with the singer. Joel sang the tune as Pollack, 18, played along on the piano -- and the star was clearly impressed with the teenager's talent.

Bing: David Bowie to tour?

He told the audience, "Remember that name. ... Guy's got chops." Speaking about the impromptu performance, Pollack told the university's student paper, The Vanderbilt Hustler, "It was probably the greatest moment of my life, up to date."

This is something that Billy Joel is quite known for.  In smaller concerts he has often had audience members request to sing or play with him and invariably he does it.  Class act..

What a class act. I'm sure Michael Pollack will never forget it. Sure hope someone was recording it for him.
